New Table And Chairs

It has been a long time since I have had a post, I have been busy with my chillins.  One thing that gets under my skin about blogging is how long it takes for me personally to download pictures.  I had to post today because I got a new dining table and chairs that makes me giddy.  I got the table off of craigslist for $100, the chairs were a little more.  I sold my first dining table that I had ever bought to pay for them.  I am so in love with this set I can't even tell you.

I have two captain chairs for each end of the table to come.  This is what I have always wanted, and I am beside myself with happiness.

New Mantle Look

I have really discovered that my decorating style has changed.  I like modern mixed with vintage now.  I used to wait and wait for my Pottery Barn magazine, and now I find I am not digging their stuff at all.  It is so strange.  I have changed things up a lot in my house, and feel like I am finally coming into my own.  This is a picture of my mantel. I got most of the stuff at Homegoods.  Homegoods is my new favorite store.  I like it even more than Goodwill.  The prices are good, and the styles are the latest.

There are two mirrored boxes, that coincide with the mirrored furniture in the dining room.  Pretty much everything in the living room now is silver, black, and white.  I love the glam aspect.

I got this chair Fo Free at a yard sale.  Hello it is awesome.  I spray painted the legs of it silver, it was a beat up gold before

I got two of these chairs at a yard sale as well.  They were six bucks for both.  They were a pine color and baby blue.  I took them apart and spray painted black and white.  I love them!  They were from Ikea.  I am sorry I have no befores, I just get excited and get to work.
I am still waiting for baby.  I am three days late.

Sneak Peek

I am one day late past my due date.  Ughhh I hate waiting, especially when I am this uncomfortable.  I am going to the doctors today, maybe I will be induced.  I thought I would show you a quick sneak peek at Noah's new big boy room.  It is in the early stages, but still cute.  I made  a side table out of our winter snow tires, that I can change out with the summer ones in the fall.  I used the round circle piece of wood I had from my bird brain idea clock that I had made this past winter.  It is so cute.  The curtains for the window are shower curtains.  I have used shower curtains many a times as curtains, you just need to buy the clips to hang them on a curtain rod.

Non DIY Sunburst Mirror

I bought this mirror at Marshalls with a gift certificate I got from my bro for my lets just call it 37  25th  birthday.  It was $50.00, but I really wanted it, and loved the blue colors in it.  I didn't know it then, but this was my inspiration for adding some much needed color to this joint.

Here she is.

Oh and I got that fireplace screen at a garage sale for $10.00.  It is much more solid than our old one.

CSN Review

I have been meaning to share what I got courtesy of CSN stores.  They gave me some store credit to plug some of the stuff they sell.  I did this for three months.  I was so excited to pick something out, I thought it would be so easy (I mean I practically shop everyday of my life).  I was so overwhelmed with their products I couldn't pick out anything.  I had no clue what to get.  I finally decided that I wanted an old school clock, like the ones you actually had in school.  It is quite large and retro, I love it.  Thank you CSN!  If there is anything you are looking for I highly recommend their site.

Quick Project

I wanted to change the "art" in our dining room, and I wanted it to be semi modern.  I have seen this done on the web and thought I would give it a try.  I first went to Jo-Ann fabrics and picked out something I liked.  I had two blank art canvas's.  I just simply covered the canvas with material, and used a staple gun to attach it.  I like this project because you can totally change the look of a room, and the sky is the limit with the material you can pick out.

Oh Man I Love This Thang

I got this a few weeks ago at a garage sale.  It was at a huge sale with a ton of kid stuff.  When I was pre children I would have probably done a drive by, but with two little ones I stopped.  I spotted this mirror and I swear it was screaming to me, "buy me, paint me".  It was $5.  I bought it and here is what I did.

I took the mirror out.

I spray painted turquoise.

I used the backing to the mirror and painted it with chalkboard paint.

I painted a few coats of the chalkboard paint.

Voila!!!

I am so into color suddenly.  I am done with dark and gloomy.

Easter Table Setting

I am not sure where to start with all the posts I need to make.  I am going to try to go in order, I know this is kind of late.
This is the Easter table setting I came up with this year.  It is happy and bright, which is what we needed after a long and horrible Winter.  I got the place mats from Kmart, they are Martha Stewart.  They were sold in a set for around $15.00.  The miscellaneous bunny stuff I purchased at Christmas Tree Shops.  I wish I would have wrapped the napkin around the silverware and tied a pretty ribbon around it.  Oh well.

New Console Table

It was the night before Mother's day and I was surfing the web.  I came across these totally awesome mirrored tables at Target.  I had to have the console table.  I loved it so much!  I didn't ask for it though, because I feel like that's rude.  Fast forward to Mother's day.  Tom and I went to Costco and he told me to look for something I want for Mother's day,  he had already given me flowers and card.  I then said I wanted the table, he said order it up.  I was so happy.  I got free shipping and 15% off.  I like it so much!  I have more to come on this subject, and more decor stuff in general.  I have made a lot of changes around here, I got my mojo back in a big way..
I got the turq/blue chinese bull at Homegoods for $12, the hand art at Goodwill for $1.99, and if you notice I have two bottles of  Skinny Girl margaritas for after I have the baby.  (Mama is thirsty)  It is such a fab peice of furniture.  I got it at Target on line for $180.

A Post Finally...

I haven't posted in a long time, and for all my fans (ha,ha,ha) I want to apologize.  I found out I was pregnant at the end of October.  I was so sick for those first three months.  I could not even look at the computer without feeling sick.  I couldn't even read yahoo headlines.  I had no thoughts of decorating, the only thing I wanted to do was sleep.  I finally started to feel better after the first trimester, but the weather here was so terrible, I mean so cold and so much snow that decorating inspiration was no where to be found.  I just am starting to get back into it, a little bit.

I found out I am having a little girl, which I am so excited about.  I already have two boys, so it will be nice to have a little chicky around.  I will try to post some pics of what I have been up to.  I am due July 17, so I will not be doing a ton of stuff.

A New Area Rug

I have been thinking about getting a new area rug for my dining room.  The rug I have now is one I ordered off line a long time ago, it was cheap and it shows.  There are fuzz balls on it and it curls in the corners.  There are so many out there, and CSN stores has some fabulous ones.  I have been checking out all the modern rugs they have and have decided we need a change.  Here is the rug I have now.
I want to get a quality more modern one like perhaps one of these.

I love all these modern rugs from CSN stores.  I will post pics when I make the change.

I can't wait for warm weather.  I hate the fact that I can't do anything.  I have projects I'd like to do, but this weather is way to cold to paint or do anything.  I hate winter!

Happy New Year!!

We had a fabulous Christmas and New Year!  Santa must of had one strong sleigh, because check out this spread.

Santa was actually my Mom.  The unwrapping was fabulous, the pick up and recycling not so much.  I whipped up our dinner table scape in about 10 minutes.  I used some gorgeous place mats I  had, that I  picked up at TJMaxx.  I used silver chargers, with my standard white plates.  I couldn't find any fabric napkins, so I used some white paper towels. (Party Foul)  To make them look a little less tacky I wrapped them with silverware and cut some sparkly ribbon to hold them together.  I used some little round mirrors to glam it up, and of course the beautiful candelabra from Goodwill.  I loved it!!

BOOM!!

The menu was seasoned Prime Rib from Costco, it was soooo good.  We of course had all the regular fixins, dessert was red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.  YUMMMMM TO THE E.  The best part is everything is still in our fridge rotting.  I don't know about you all, but this Christmas pick up never ends.  We finally got rid of the fire Hazard  tree today.  It feels so good to be holiday free for awhile.  The only holiday I want to think about is the one I'll be taking to Florida.
I want to also say thank you to Better After for featuring my Christmas deer head on her blog.  That was so cool.
