Non DIY Sunburst Mirror

I bought this mirror at Marshalls with a gift certificate I got from my bro for my lets just call it 37  25th  birthday.  It was $50.00, but I really wanted it, and loved the blue colors in it.  I didn't know it then, but this was my inspiration for adding some much needed color to this joint.

Here she is.

Oh and I got that fireplace screen at a garage sale for $10.00.  It is much more solid than our old one.

CSN Review

I have been meaning to share what I got courtesy of CSN stores.  They gave me some store credit to plug some of the stuff they sell.  I did this for three months.  I was so excited to pick something out, I thought it would be so easy (I mean I practically shop everyday of my life).  I was so overwhelmed with their products I couldn't pick out anything.  I had no clue what to get.  I finally decided that I wanted an old school clock, like the ones you actually had in school.  It is quite large and retro, I love it.  Thank you CSN!  If there is anything you are looking for I highly recommend their site.

Quick Project

I wanted to change the "art" in our dining room, and I wanted it to be semi modern.  I have seen this done on the web and thought I would give it a try.  I first went to Jo-Ann fabrics and picked out something I liked.  I had two blank art canvas's.  I just simply covered the canvas with material, and used a staple gun to attach it.  I like this project because you can totally change the look of a room, and the sky is the limit with the material you can pick out.

Oh Man I Love This Thang

I got this a few weeks ago at a garage sale.  It was at a huge sale with a ton of kid stuff.  When I was pre children I would have probably done a drive by, but with two little ones I stopped.  I spotted this mirror and I swear it was screaming to me, "buy me, paint me".  It was $5.  I bought it and here is what I did.

I took the mirror out.

I spray painted turquoise.

I used the backing to the mirror and painted it with chalkboard paint.

I painted a few coats of the chalkboard paint.

Voila!!!

I am so into color suddenly.  I am done with dark and gloomy.

Easter Table Setting

I am not sure where to start with all the posts I need to make.  I am going to try to go in order, I know this is kind of late.
This is the Easter table setting I came up with this year.  It is happy and bright, which is what we needed after a long and horrible Winter.  I got the place mats from Kmart, they are Martha Stewart.  They were sold in a set for around $15.00.  The miscellaneous bunny stuff I purchased at Christmas Tree Shops.  I wish I would have wrapped the napkin around the silverware and tied a pretty ribbon around it.  Oh well.

New Console Table

It was the night before Mother's day and I was surfing the web.  I came across these totally awesome mirrored tables at Target.  I had to have the console table.  I loved it so much!  I didn't ask for it though, because I feel like that's rude.  Fast forward to Mother's day.  Tom and I went to Costco and he told me to look for something I want for Mother's day,  he had already given me flowers and card.  I then said I wanted the table, he said order it up.  I was so happy.  I got free shipping and 15% off.  I like it so much!  I have more to come on this subject, and more decor stuff in general.  I have made a lot of changes around here, I got my mojo back in a big way..
I got the turq/blue chinese bull at Homegoods for $12, the hand art at Goodwill for $1.99, and if you notice I have two bottles of  Skinny Girl margaritas for after I have the baby.  (Mama is thirsty)  It is such a fab peice of furniture.  I got it at Target on line for $180.
