I Went Shopping 4 Real!

I did a little Christmas shopping with my Mom yesterday, and it wasn't at Goodwill, Salvation Army, or Recycle North.  I have not been to a real store, other than a grocery store in I don't even know how long.  We went to downtown Burlington.  The first store we went to was Urban Outfitters.  That store is so cool!  As I have mentioned I am totally into records right now, and apparently so are a lot of people.  They actually sell vinyl.  Santa Claus (i.e. my Mom) is getting me Bob Marley Legends album........HOOT HOOT.... oh, and speaking of hoot, hoot, Owls are the biggest thing since slice bread there.
Here are some pics from their website.

They also have the best bedding!  Oh my gosh I just love them all, especially the first one.

We also went to "Old Navy" you have to sing that when you say it.  We got some cute stuff there too!  Little Noah got a cut pair of Ugg style boots.  Adam got a winter hat, and I got some stocking stuffers.  My Mom bought the place out.  She got me those skinny cargo pants that probably everyone has but me.  Love them.  When we were leaving we stopped by Charlotte Russe and we both got matching shoes and sweaters.  She got the style below in black, and I got silver.

My mom didn't get the sweater below, but I did. The shoes and that sweater have Thanksgiving all over it.

In closing, I know it was long post.  I just haven't been real shopping in so long, and I probably shouldn't.  Have a great day.

Thanksgiving Past

These are some pics from two of my past Thanksgivings.  The first pic below looks like I had eight people.  The dining room was not that big so I did my best to accommodate.  I had hollowed out a pumpkin and put flowers in it, and I obviously did  a little bit of layering.  I remember I had found some gorgeous feathered angel Christmas ornaments that carried a charm with a birthstone in it.  I had the ladies sit with their birthstone angel, and they could take it home and hang it on their tree.
The Thanksgiving below I had like twelve people, so I did two tables.  I again did the pumpkin bouquet.  I also modge podged leaves that I had written peoples names on.  I used raffia as napkin rings. I also collected some acorns with Adam outside and sprinkled them on the table with some cranberries.

Here is Adam getting his cake on.  He was so little then.

More Giveaways

I'm so excited!  I was asked by CSN stores to do more giveaways.  I will be announcing more on this later.  I have had a totally lazy weekend, other than doing some outdoor yard work.  Brianna has been here all weekend which was nice, because she watched little Noah for us so Tom and I could go out.  We had dinner and a movie.  While she was here she cleaned her bedroom up (you would not have believed how it looked before), and I took some pics.  This is how a teenager rolls in our house.

The big clock!

The aqua Roxy bedding.

Here framed artwork with pictures she took!

Switch A Roo

I switched up the living room a little bit.  I like it much better.  I had these two glass end tables that were constantly dusty and finger print ridden.  I moved those out to the sun porch for now and brought in this stuff.  I at least will not have to worry about my little one falling through the glass anymore.  Consider me on the search right now for an end table that I will be painting off white and glazing with black.  If I could have a clean lined, low profile tufted couch I would be the happiest chicky ever!  I have to work with what I have for now, but a girl can dream.

New Pellet Stove

Sorry I have been posting later than I usually do, Tom has been installing our mighty pellet stove and has needed my help.  It was installed yesterday and it works great!  I am not thrilled that the grill is tacky, brassy!  The pipe in the back is silver which I like, butttttttt when is the last time you saw any stove in silver.  I don't understand why pipe people wouldn't have them be black.  I know, I know I can paint it which I will, but why make extra work.  I have been into paint so much lately, I am getting burnt out!!
I also wanted to showcase the hearth pad Tom just made.  It was made with a piece of 3/4 in. plywood, cement hardy backer, then we picked out some ceramic tile. We were lucky because Tom saves scrap wood so we had the piece of plywood already. (Free is for me!) The pad was finally encased with oak.  It's awesome!!  We have only turned it on a couple of times, but the flame makes it homie,...... homie.

P.S.  and with the money we save in the oil bill, I'll be able to get my thrift shop on even more.
